Duine trasphlandaithe eile ón Fhóram Úd Eile anseo. Caidé mar atá sibh uilig?

Deas bualadh leis na daoine eile nach raibh aithne agam orthu roimhe seo, agus deas ‘bualadh le’ hanam Tomás chomh maith, nach raibh ar m’aithne agam ach mar ‘Gumbi’ amháin. Sa dóigh chéarna, nuair nach dtabhraim ‘cnó cócó’ orm féin, is é Janus an t-ainm atá orm. :)

Hi, I'm Amber. I'm a little confused about which site to use, but since I was getting tons of pop ups on the IGTF site, I figured I'd try this one. I just recently joined a class to learn Irish, I remembered I once visited IGTF and thought I'd join a forum to help me practice and learn more. So, here I am-hi! :)

Welcome, Amber. It was the pop-ups at IGTF that prompted us to set up this site. Hopefully you'll recognise some familiar faces.

Thanks! Ok, that makes sense. I had to completely close everything to get rid of them myself :S Yeah, it was awhile ago and I just sort of scrolled through every now and then, but now I look forward to being a regular member on here and learning as much as I can from everyone! My class has just started, but hopefully this time next week I'll be able to say a few things! ;)

Is mise Ailéin Ó Clúmháin agus as Doire mé. Thosaigh mé ag foghlaim na Gaeilge thart fá deich mbliana ó shin , roimhe sin cha raibh focal ar bith agam agus mise chóir a bheith daichead bliain d'aois. Beidh níos mó eolais agaibh fúmsa níos moille a chairde. Ádh mór oraibh go léir ach go háirithe ba mhaith mo bhuíochas a dhul do Bhrendáin agus Irish Learners Forum.

Beidh an t-agallamh le fáil ar line ar feadh cúpla lá eile nó tamaill níos faide mar phodchraoladh. Starts tvvelve minutes tvventy seconds into the programme. Ní thig liom an nasc a chur suas - fadhbanna méarchláir, tá a fhios agaibh...

:D Dia duit gach duine, an-áthas orm go bhfuil fuair an áit iontach agus ar na féidearthachtaí bualadh le cairde nua a bhfuil spéis acu sa Ghaeilge agus gach rud Gaelach! I am a second generation Irish-American, I have always been so grateful and proud of the more "typical Irish traits" of my family: the wit, the charm, the humor, the wisdom, the wonderful stories, the tearful old songs, the enduring grace, beauty, decency, cleverness, generosity and strength of character they all possess, fills me with grá teaghlaigh agus bród! I wish the exquisite Irish language had not been all but lost here in the US, but I understand the dire need of those fleeing the Famine, to assimilate as quickly as possible in order to find employment and feed their families. I owe it to my ancestors to keep our language alive, besides I just am fascinated and enchanted with Gaelic! Please have patience, as I am a beginner. I have started on my own, searching the internet and practicing with friends from Ireland. I would really appreciate any site/book/class suggestions, etc., for a place to learn the basics properly. ...looking forward happily to this experience...
Here's to you as good as you are
and here's to me as bad as I am
As Good As you are and as bad as I am
I'm as Good as you are
As Bad As I am!
SLAINTE!!!
