Níl sé beo- isn't that the same as Tá sé fear

shouldn't it be- Ní rud beo é

Why? beo is an adjective. Níl sé beo is no stranger than níl sé óg.

I don't know, I was just wandering- Níl sé beo looks like níl sé fear.

Wandering all over the neighbourhood, more like!

It doesn't matter what they "look like" - Fear is a noun, so it can't be used in a tá sé ... construction, true enough, you'd need to use is as in is fear é, but beo is an adjective and tá sé beo is a perfectly normal sentence.

1) Níl sé beo.
2) Níl sé déanta as adhmad.
3)Níl sé déanta as miotal
4) Níl sé nios mó ná bosca aráin.
5)Níl sé déanta as plaisteach.
6) Tá - faightear sa theach é.

I don't think you can just use as a replacement for all "yes" answers.

You need to repeat the verb from the question:

An bhfaightear sa teach é? Faightear/ní fhaightear

An léann daoine é? Léann/Ní léann

'Tá' and 'níl' only work when replying to 'an bhfuil....'
